On Saturday, 18th October, Richard Bridgman, Facilities Manager at Audley Binswood will be tackling the tallest internal abseil in the UK. Richard will be raising money for the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, which was recently announced as Audley Binswoord’s charity partner.

On the day, Richard will undertake a trio of internal abseils: a 210ft traditional abseil, an 80ft free-fall abseil and a forward facing abseil of 110ft. He aims to raise hundreds of pounds for the charity.

Richard Bridgman, Facilities Manager at Audley Binswood, said: “I am really excited to take on this challenge for such an incredibly important charity, which protects the local and wider community every single day of the year. With each rescue mission costing an average of £1,700 I am aiming to raise as much money as possible through this abseil to ensure they can keep delivering these services.”

Formed in 2003, the Warwickshire & Northamptonshire Air Ambulance has saved thousands of lives across Warwickshire and Northamptonshire. The paramedics, doctors and pilots work together to provide advanced clinical care to patients at the scene of an accident, before flying them to hospital.

Audley Binswood recently brought forward the development of its second phase of development following the sale of all properties in the first phase which were launched in May 2014. This second phase will see the conversion of the original gym and art blocks of the former school into twenty luxury apartments. Binswood Hall also contains the Audley Club which offers facilities similar to a five star boutique hotel including Whittles restaurant, bar/bistro, library, swimming pool and health and wellbeing centre. The Club is open to those who live in the village and the local community while the restaurant and bar/bistro are open to all by reservation.
