Audley Villages are taking part in Afternoon Tea Week

Posted in News on 11th August 2015

Since its introduction in 1840, afternoon tea has cemented itself as a quintessentially British pastime. Many of Audley Retirement's Villages will be celebrating this tradition by taking part in National Afternoon Tea Week this week.

National Afternoon Tea Week will be taking place across the UK with themed menus and offers available from 10th-16th August. From five-star hotels to castles and stately homes, luxury department stores to double decker buses, there will be something going on in every region of the UK.

Audley property owners and the wider community can partake in the week at Audley Binswood, Audley Inglewood, Audley Clevedon, Audley St Elphin's Park, Audley Mote House and Audley Willicombe Park.  Our chefs in each location have designed a special set menu which incorporates some of the finest seasonal ingredients from a wide variety of local suppliers. Dishes include classics such a selection of finger sandwiches, traditional fruit scones with strawberry preserve and clotted cream along with a variety of scrumptious cakes. Guests can also choose to enjoy a cocktail or a quintessentially English gin and tonic served from a china cup.

Luciano Catalinotto, Head Chef at The Whittle’s Restaurant, commented, “Afternoon Tea is a tradition in the UK and we’re looking forward to celebrating it with both owners and members of our local community. We pride ourselves on crafting high quality menus all year round, using the freshest produce from local suppliers to create delicious dishes.”
