Excitement has been growing as tickets have been allocated to a lucky 40 people out of over 300 applicants who have won their place on a historical tour of the grounds and outbuildings surrounding Mote House.

This Georgian Grade II listed building which is the jewel in the crown of Mote Park will officially open in July 2012 to form the social hub of Audley’s retirement village with its wide range of facilities such as a restaurant, swimming pool and library.

Retirement specialists Audley have been working hard to preserve this impressive building, as well as the surrounding outbuildings and Walled Garden all of which are Grade II listed and come under the protection of English Heritage.

During the Big Weekend, which is being held on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 March 2012, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a guided behind the scenes tour of the outbuildings and grounds and then treated to afternoon tea in the Audley Clubhouse.

This special preview is the start of a programme of events leading up to the grand opening of Mote House in Summer 2012.
