Welcome to our new Health and Wellness Director

Welcome to Emma Robinson who has joined Audley Group as our first ever Health and Wellness Director. Emma will head up every aspect of health and wellness across the Audley Group, reporting to CEO Nick Sanderson.

Emma joins Audley from a global career focused on health, welfare and wellbeing. She has experience working in government, higher education and the private sector across Australia, Italy and the United Kingdom. Her most recent role was as Dean of Students within the UK higher education sector, where she led a student first approach to supporting individuals to thrive during their learning journey. This included the development of holistic health and wellbeing programmes and initiatives designed to meet the needs of a diverse student population.

As Health and Wellness Director, Emma will work closely with the management team on the future strategy and growth of wellness across all of our Audley and Mayfield villages, putting strategies in place to enhance physical, nutritional and mental and emotional wellbeing to support a healthy and vibrant lifestyle. Her role will encompass Audley and Mayfield Care, working closely with Head of Care Michelle Forbes to ensure Audley’s continued delivery of exceptional care and support services to customers in the villages and local communities.

Nick Sanderson, CEO, Audley Group said,

“We have long committed to an integrated approach to health and wellness in our villages, and with Emma’s appointment we have found the right leader to take that approach to the next level. As a sector, we need to be moving beyond care, to look at every aspect of life and help people maintain their health and independence for as long as possible. Emma’s expertise across the health and wellness sector will be invaluable as we unveil our holistic strategy for 2024 and beyond.”

Emma said of her appointment,

“I’m delighted to be appointed Health and Wellness Director. I’m passionate about supporting people to look at their health in a comprehensive way and enabling them to take control to allow them to live the best life possible. Health is absolutely intertwined with quality of life and Audley’s mission to help people live better for longer really chimed with my own beliefs and values. Audley’s approach to health as we age feels transformational and I’m committed to using my experience to contribute to Audley’ continuing success.”

We caught up with Emma briefly during her first week here and she had this to say,

Emma, how have you found your first week at Audley?

From the moment I stepped into our Head Office and explored some of our beautiful villages, the warm welcome from my colleagues, the smiles from our owners, and the vibrant surroundings made me feel right at home. I can confidently say that my first week has been an incredibly fulfilling and enjoyable experience! This initial week has not only provided a comprehensive overview of the organisation's vision but has also fuelled my enthusiasm for the opportunities that lie ahead.

What was your first impression when visiting a village?

Walking wide-eyed into every village I must sound like a broken record as I keep saying "Oohhhh this is beautiful!" As I explore each village, first impressions paint a picture of not just a place to reside, but a vibrant, positive community where our owners flourish and find a new chapter in life filled with companionship, new connections, and shared experiences.

What are you most excited to see or do now you’re here?

My passion lies in individuals being the best versions of themselves and thriving in every chapter of life. I take a holistic, person-centred view of wellness, it is not just a concept or a 'buzz word', rather a commitment and assurance to our owners. I see exciting and innovative initiatives across all villages that put our owners at the heart of every decision: co-creation of engagement plans, personalised attention, tailored programmes, and expert lifestyle support. Watch this space!

 What makes you feel proud?

Great question! I am incredibly proud of the work I have undertaken in health and wellness, my career has been so diverse and full of wonderful experiences, opportunities and people. I feel I have walked with purpose, contributed meaningfully, been my authentic self and embraced the journey. I am also an incredibly proud Australian - so owners and colleagues better prepare for all the sporting banter I can muster!
