Coronavirus update from CEO Nick Sanderson

Update, 26th June: Our Audley Clubs and restaurants will remain closed to the public beyond 4th July. This is a precautionary measure to protect our owners and staff. Please follow Audley Stories and our social media updates for further information and we will announce our future re-opening to club members and restaurant diners when we can.

I am very aware that all our teams, owners and customers must be concerned at this time about Coronavirus.

Myself and the senior leadership team are doing all in our power to ensure that Audley continues to help its teams in all of their efforts to support our owners and care clients.

This is a fast moving situation and we are all in unchartered territory. A global pandemic of this kind is very rare and many of the consequences have not been considered. However, at Audley we are determined to stay ahead of the situation.

The actions we have taken so far were in advance of Government advice as it was produced. We would prefer to be criticised for over reacting than risk not taking the situation seriously enough.

On Thursday 12th March we closed our restaurants and health clubs to the public until further notice. This has unfortunately meant cancelling planned events and bookings over the next 6 weeks. In line with advice, additional handwashing and sanitisation has been in place for some weeks now and our cleaning regime and products used have also been updated inline with guidance. There are now questions in place for any visitors to our villages to try and minimise exposure to our owners.

There have been no cases of Coronavirus in any Audley village to date, nor have we become aware of any direct contact with anyone with the virus. Our actions are precautionary measures to minimise the risk to the people living with us and to our teams.

We will continue to communicate with our owners, customers and staff regularly and share our plans. A heartfelt thank you for your patience and understanding and to our dedicated teams for the hard work they are putting in to keep our villages operating.

My thanks as always for your commitment to Audley and for your understanding at this difficult time.

If you have the slightest concern that you or anyone you may have been in contact with could be associated with a Coronavirus diagnosed patient, please email questions@audleygroup.com
